LIGHT PAINTING IS A MEANS OF BRINGING together THE TOOLS OF PHOTOGRAPHY WITH the fluidity of hand drawn illustration.

 

This work Explores THE PLAYFULNESS & FREEDOM OF "PAINTING' WITH LIGHT USING LONG EXPOSURE TO create dreamlike, surreal images.

Light painting as a medium OPENs THE POSSIBILITIES OF CAPTURING A CASCADE OF MOVEMENT INTO one SINGLE FRAME.

it is an act of art + play, experimental exploration.

Much of my work with light painting is created around the cohesive theme of women’s sense of self.

 

considering ANCIENT & MODERN rituals of femininity / feminine archetypes, contemplating the multitude of strengths we carry.

playing with long exposure photography is equivalent to the exploration of night & darkness.

​

Night has gotten herself a bad name,

She carries the mystique of dark energy, uncertainty, danger.

night embodies the mysterious shadow side of things,

​

this photographic method allows access into the darkness

to see what can be exposed.
